Dedenne is an electric and fairy-type Pokémon from Gen 6 which can be added to your Kalos Pokédex in Pokémon Go.
Since Dedenne can’t evolve, you only need to catch this Pokémon once if you want to add it to your Pokédex.
Below you’ll discover how to get Dedenne in the latest Pokémon Go event, along with its counters and weaknesses if you want to battle it in one-star raids.
Throughout the Festival of Lights, you can catch Dedenne using two methods:
In the wild.
One-star raids.
Field research task – Power up Pokémon 10 times.
Dedenne should be appearing quite frequently in the wild throughout the Festival of Lights event, which means you should be able to add it to your Pokédex quite easily.
If, however, you are having trouble tracking it down, then you might want to try placing a Magnetic Lure at one of your favourite PokéStops. Since electric-types are one of the Pokémon types which are specifically attracted to Magnetic Lures, then there’s a chance you’ll encounter a Dedenne.
One-star raids are also a great way to easily grab a Dedenne, because you should be able to easily tackle this Pokémon by yourself. You can learn more about Dedenne’s weaknesses and counters in the section below.

We don’t currently know what the spawn rate for Dedenne will be once the Festival of Lights has finished, but, like the majority of the recently released Pokémon, it will mostly likely be quite a rare encounter. For this reason, we highly recommend catching a Dedenne before the event ends – you only need to catch one after all!

Dedenne is weak against – Ground and poison-types.
Dedenne counters – Victreebell, Groudon, Toxicroak, Roserade, Rhyperior and Garchomp.
Other Dedenne notes – You should have no problem defeating Dedenne if you enter the battle with a few strong ground or poison-type Pokémon.
