I wasn’t planning on uploading for this Arks Record at first ~
Originally, I was only planning to achieve my goal times off camera and then be done with it.
However…after optimizing my Ranger run, I found myself needing to upload it for one, very unfortunate reason.
Yes, I’m using T2 Blaze Shot alongside Multilaunch!
Story Time! I actually spent about 2 days optimizing my spine strategy using the knowledge I had from my Stia Purple Solos on Blazentos, which included something very important for this fight in particular: maintaining height.
There were so many factors that actually made the spine-fight fun and required you to think, as well as react quickly. You needed to know which direction to weapon action in order for your grenade to hit the spine. You needed to know when to use double-weapon-action in order to avoid wall-grenades. You needed to keep your one jump available so you can Encore Jump back to position. You needed to know which move in particular allowed you to lay a mine that can blue damage the spine instead of a grenade. There was also a very flashy, and damaging fallen impact set up on dino’s flip. You needed to do all of this while maintaining your height. It was pretty difficult and challenging! In an optimal run, I would begin Enrage with 6800 DPS average.
Then…I tried T2 Blaze Shot. It did everything and more. It built Purple quickly, and its DPS would increase at such a consistent level due to launcher-grenade refreshing weak bullet AND recovering your PP. Multilaunch numbers were also very decent, and hit blue damage on the spine extremely consistently. Less work, higher reward — I wasn’t very thrilled to find this. Unfortunately, this is what started pushing my times from 4:5X to 4:4X, and then finally 4:28.
As for Gunner, one thing to look out for is T2 Aimless Rain as filler damage alongside T3 Blaze Shot. The former being amazing for PB Generation and the latter for damage.
